Welcome to Cartoon Springboard in Halle!
Cartoon Springboard started on Tuesday 15 November. Experts, young talents, producers, and plenty of projects landed in Halle, a media location and host of many production and service providing companies.
We are celebrating the second edition of Cartoon Springboard, an event designed to help promising young talents make their big leap into the more professional world of the animation industry. Our objectives are to make young creatives and producers more aware of the needs of the industry, and underline the new trends that are shaping the industry from a creative, production and distribution point of view.
Cartoon did a survey among young talents who attended last year and found out that out of the 24 projects presented at Cartoon Springboard: 3 of them are in development with producers met here last year, 1 project is being produced in Italy with an Italian producer, 1 is preparing a TV pilot, another one is in development in Denmark, ...
Moreover, 3 projects were pitched at Cartoon Forum last September with for one 233 participants in the room (66 investors). So 30% of the projects presented are now launching!
We hope to have the same good results this year and even more!
After lunch, we started with 2 presentations on the role of the producer introduced by Gabriele M. Walther (Caligari Film-und Fernsehproduktion) and followed with an inspiring workshop about storytelling and story development with Barbara Slade.
In the next days, the young talents, last year or freshly graduated students, will pitch 24 projects from 13 European countries: Sweden, France, Italy, Germany, the UK, Hungary, Bulgary, Czech Republic, Netherlands, Georgia, Slovakia, Poland and Spain.
We finished this great day in a relaxed atmosphere by our traditional Welcome Dinner in the Stadhouse of Halle.
