"Loving Vincent", long applause at Cartoon Movie

On Thursday 3 March, the director Hugh Welchman presented his film "Loving Vincent" which brings the paintings of Vincent Van Gogh to life: the portraits of the people around him, set within the landscapes he painted. Every frame in this movie is an oil painting on canvas, using the very same technique in which Vincent himself painted. The intrigue unfolds through interviews with the characters closest to Vincent and through dramatic reconstructions of the events leading up to his death.

"Loving Vincent" will be the world's first feature-length painted animation, and is brought to you by Oscar winning film companies Breakthru Films and Trademark Films for "Peter & the Wolf" in 2008 (nominee for the Cartoon d'Or 2007).

In production, "Loving Vincent" is already pre-sold in the following territories: France, Switzerland, Portugal, Greece, Czech/Slovak Republics, Former Yugoslavia, Middle East, S. Korea, Hong Kong, Argentina, ...
