9:15 – 11:45  Writing and Producing for the Web
Everybody is talking about producing for the Web. But what does it mean? Is it a real BUZZ? And is there a business model behind web series?
Based on his own experience of a stop-motion animation web series, Thomas will tell us about the whole creative and production environment necessary for a web series to develop:

  • What content works, what type of story you can create and tell, the target group you must have in mind
  • The production costs and planning? How can you produce it?
  • What is the web about?
  • The specificities of Interaction and Community

Speaker: Thomas Schneider-Trumpp (Web-TV Producer & Head of Development - SCOPAS MEDIEN AG)
Moderator: Mike Robinson

10:15 - 10:45 Coffee break

11:45 - 13:00 Distributing Animation Programmes on the Web
It has never been easier for (Cartoon / Animation) producers to start their own video (TV) channel. But is this really true? Harald will give a closer look at the tactics and strategies needed to distribute a programme effectively, generate traffic and audience viewing:

  • What are the smartest and most cost effective hosting options?
  • How do you get a (big) audience? Is content syndication working on the web?
  • Do you need to promote your content? What are the options for this and what does it cost? Can you afford this?
  • Should you redistribute your content, and if so how? Do you need staff to handle this?
  • How do you earn money with it and what can you expect as revenue on a short/mid-term and long-term basis?
  • Is partnering a real option? What partnership models exist? Which ones do work and which (most likely) don’t?
  • What about brand marketing, product placements and sponsoring opportunities?
  • Are their valid blue prints to adopt? Is there a formula for success? How can you measure it?
  • What can be learned from scopas' major 3 webisodes D11B, Eckelsteins and Kanzlerkantine?

In brief, what you always wanted to ask, but never got a clear answer ... Here, you will most likely get one.
